Room Organization Tips

Updated: Feb 13, 2019

We are all guilty of having a messy room at times. Here are a few easy, cheap ways to keep your room organized!

Shoe Boxes

Do you have extra shoe boxes laying around that are just taking up space? Use those shoeboxes as containers! You can fit things like your socks, undies, bras, swimsuits/swim trunks, and other smaller clothing items into shoe boxes. This way you don’t have to spend money on a container and it’s a way to rid of some cluster.

Shoe Shelf

Instead of just throwing your shoes in a pile, try a hanging shoe shelf. This makes it easier to keep pairs of shoes together and increases floor space. You can find shoe shelves for as cheap as $7 on Amazon.

Folding Clothes

Running out of drawer space? Instead of folding shirts flat, roll up your shirts. This is a tip people use for packing their suitcase, but it can also be applied to maximize dresser space.

Belts

Finding a place to put your belts can be difficult. One simple way to keep belts organized and in one spot is by using a hanger. Just slip the belt buckle through the hanger hook, and you can hang your belts in your closet.

Hamper

Hampers are perfect when it comes to reducing dirty clothes piles. I recommend having two hampers so you have one for dark and light clothes. That way you don’t have to separate clothes on laundry days. Target has a great selection of hampers that range between $10 to $20.

Jewelry Storage

Jewelry boxes are musts for every female (or male, we don’t care). A lot of the times though jewelry boxes don’t have a whole lot of storage spaces. That’s why I recommend jewelry pouch bags. They are very cheap if you buy them in bulk on Amazon, and they help avoid jewelry getting tangled with one another.

Extra Storage Space

Need extra storage space? Bed lift blocks are an easy way to get under bed storage. All you have to do is place them under your bed frame, and it will give you a couple inches of storage. You can use this extra room to store containers under your bed. You can find cheap, reliable bed risers at Bed Bath & Beyond.

With time, effort, and these organizational tips, your room will be looking more organized than ever!
