Who feels groggy and tired after waking up in the morning before going to school everyday? Who need more sleep than they are getting at night? All of us do, and the worst thing is sitting in class 1st hour not being able to focus, wanting to go back to bed. There is actually a solution that can help other than unnecessary energy drinks or coffee every morning.
Morning exercise has many benefits, and I know when people hear about waking up early to workout they quickly deny the opportunity. I know you would much rather lay in bed until the absolute last minute, but first, listen to the amazing advantages!
1. You will be more active all day long
Getting your morning workout in influences you to keep going, and moving throughout the rest of your day. There was also a study found that those who work out in the mornings tend to be more active in general.
2. You’ll sleep better at night (I know we all need this don’t even lie)
If you workout towards the evening, your body is more stimulated and your body
temperature is higher, causing you to not be able to fall asleep. If you exercise in the
morning, then fall in bed 15 hours later, you’re more likely to have a deeper and longer sleep!
3. You’ll lower your blood pressure
Those who work out in the morning reduced their blood pressure by 10%, and continued
to lower all day. The lower your blood pressure, the lower your risk is for stroke or heart
disease as you get older
4. You will enhance your muscle growth
Testosterone levels are at their peak in the morning, which is the hormone that promotes
muscle growth. The more testosterone, the more efficient we will be at building muscle
Now although these benefits sound great, nobody is good at getting out of their comfy bed in the morning, especially in the winter months. Some tips are needed for those who want to pursue morning exercise!
1. Put your alarm far away from you (no not right on your nightstand)
If you place your alarm all the way on the other side of your room, you have to actually get out of bed to turn it off. This forces you to get up.
2. Keep moving
Do not sit down when you wake up, or when you get into the shower. Stay active and
move so you will feel more awake and you won’t want to get back into your bed.
3. Make your workout something to look forward to
Nobody likes a boring sweat session. Make it fun by turning on your favorite music or TV
show to motivate you!
4. Pick a partner
Having a friend or family member exercise with you make it twice as much fun, and they
will keep you company. This will also give you an extra push of motivation. Don’t have a
friend that wants to exercise? Go to a group workout, where you can meet new people!
